Metzger-Sanders Gun Collection
The Sanders-Metzger collection is one of the largest in Texas with over 600 rare and valuable firearms and accessories. When it was first donated to Texas A&M University it was uncertain what should be done with it. It remained packed in storage crates for a long time until it was finally displayed on the second floor of the Memorial Student Center.

Another Section of the Collection highlights the Guns of West.
When the Corps Center was built, the collection finally found a permanent home. The collection is host to thousands of visitors every year and serves as a point of discussion and study to gun enthusiasts, collectors and historians. The impressive collection is known to gun collectors across the United States, most notably for the completeness of the Commemorative Colt collection. The collection also has novelties that intrigue the average visitor--like the ancient Chinese hand cannons and ivory hilt crossbows.
The collection is under constant study, and the history of each of the firearms is being compiled and reviewed and soon to be published. The collection can be viewed at any time during the open hours of the Sam Houston Sanders Corps Center.
