North Entrance
To the students and former students of Texas A&M's Corps of Cadets and
to the friends and supporters of the Corps Center, the brick plaza is a constructive way
of leaving a mark on the campus they called home for so long. To others the brick plaza holds a symbolic meaning. The bricks
are purchased from the Corps Center for $250 ($100 for current undergraduate students) and
feature the name and class year of the individual. Money received from the sale of
the engraved bricks is placed into an endowment which supports the operation of the Corps
Center and helps provide scholarships for cadets. This self-sustaining concept is in
keeping with the fact that the Corps Center was built solely through gifts and donations.
The bricks represent the donations and support of family and friends of the Corps and are the foundation of the arches of the Corps Center. The arches represent the Corps of Cadets itself, a family where each member or brick depends on those around it--a place where team work and loyality is taught and learned. The brick foundation of support and donations from friends of the Corps helps to ensure the future of the Corps of Cadets.
