Aditi Gupta came to Texas A&M from New Delhi, India with only basic knowledge of what the Corps of Cadets was all about. What she did know she gathered from the Corps website. Aditi has a great deal of respect for the military and was drawn to the possibility of experiencing the Corps lifestyle. She felt that not only would she learn a lot by being in the Corps, she also felt it would be the best way to get involved at A&M.
Now, a junior in the Corps, Aditi would share with you all that she made a great choice.that the Corps is not just any student organization - it is the heart of Texas A&M. "Knowing that you represent the university, that you are responsible for safeguarding and passing forth the Corps values, and that when you train, you're making a huge impact on the underclassmens' lives.it is a great feeling," Aditi shared.
Aditi is a member of V-1, an outfit in which 80% of her outfit is prior military service. Aditi mentioned that being an international student wasn't a hurdle.she just, as she said, "had some catching up to do to learn more about the military." She is now the first sergeant of V-1 and among other things, is also a math tutor on campus.
By chance, Aditi found the Corps. It has become an amazing journey for Aditi Gupta. She admits she has more than a couple great memories and would say to anyone entering the Corps. "Stick it out. Tell yourself you will not quit! It will be one of the best decisions you will make in your life. There will be few other moments that make you feel as proud of yourself as the moment you earn you Corps brass (rank)."
If you were to receive an e-mail from Aditi, you would see her closing signature is combined with a quote that reads, ".destiny speaks through the choices we make."
